Bob Lamb

Please join me in congratulating Bob Lamb, professor of English, on the publication of The Hemingway Short Story: A Study in Craft for Writers and Readers (Louisiana State University Press). First published in 2013, The Hemingway Short Story was recently reissued in paperback as the companion volume to Bob’s acclaimed 2010 book Art Matters: Hemingway, Craft, and the Creation of the Modern Short Story, which reviewers have called “a major contribution to Hemingway studies” and “scholarship at its finest.”

Bob’s book offers a timely look into the intersection of craft and cultural studies, presenting a compelling case for their interdependence. Rating The Hemingway Short Story “essential,” Choice praises this volume as “a must read for anyone interested in short fiction,” noting that “those who know that craft matters deeply to the meaning and enjoyment of short fiction will value this thoroughly researched, beautifully written book.”

Congratulations, Professor Lamb!
