Visiting Assistant Professor
Sara Wiest is a visiting assistant professor of political science.
Wiest received her Ph.D. in public policy from Purdue University and her B.A. in political science from Michigan State University.
Her research interests include urban policy and politics; political geography and spatial analysis; and environmental policy. She is particularly interested in the politics of place and race and the interaction between civil society and local government.
Her current work is concerned with understanding how social ties influence local government investment decisions and population change.
