Aaron Novick joins Purdue as an assistant professor of philosophy and faculty fellow in the Cornerstone Integrated Liberal Arts program.

Novick completed a Ph.D. in history and philosophy of science at the University of Pittsburgh and has a B.A. in philosophy and biology from The College of Wooster. Prior to accepting a position at Purdue, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Dalhousie University.

His research concerns the history and philosophy of evolutionary theory, including work on issues in microbial evolution and work on conceptual and theoretical change in biology (focusing on the “homology” concept).
