Roles and Responsibilities Securing Purdue's Data Storing Restricted Data

Faculty, Staff, and Graduate Researchers

Purdue and the College of Liberal Arts understands the importance of safe and correct data handling. This may include public, sensitive, and/or restricted data. It is important to understand how these data types must be handled within the academic and administrative areas.

The Data Classification and Handling Procedures website should first be reviewed. If restricted data is found to be in use, it is critical that proper data handling procedures are in place. If research projects will include restricted data, faculty will first contact Dr. Sorin Matei, Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education. The CLA Research website is found below, including contact information for the Associate Dean. After review and if needed, CLA IT will be included in the project to setup and provision storage resources.

First point of contact for research and ANY restricted data will be Dr. Sorin Matei who will then involve the CLA IT Security Officer.

Dr. Sorin Adam Matei, Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education
