Wendy Hynes joined Purdue in 2013 after directing the interior design studio of a Boston-based architectural firm for several years. She practices primarily workplace, library and K-12 academic design, and has overseen the interior design for several new libraries and school buildings throughout Massachusetts and the East coast. She received an M.S. in Architecture from the University of Michigan and a B.S. in Interior Design from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Wendy is NCIDQ certified and has held previous academic appointments at Ball State University, University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, New England School of Art and Design, and Boston Architectural College. With hands-on industry experience, her research interests include K-12 collaborative learning environments with particular interest in the design of makerspaces and engineering technology labs.
