Peter Watkins was educated at the University of Warwick and Washington University in St. Louis, where he received his Ph.D. in political science. He has taught classes in constitutional law, American politics, and in an interdisciplinary liberal arts program. Prior to his appointment in Cornerstone, he served as senior lecturer and visiting professor of political science at Purdue University, and as visiting scholar at the Center for C-SPAN Scholarship & Engagement. Most recently, he served as the principal writer and researcher for the podcast series "My Constitution." His academic interests include constitutional law and constitutional and extra-legal arguments on capital punishment
