Molly Lorraine Phalan is a Visiting Clinical Instructor of Fine Arts in the Department of Art and Design in the Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Visual and Performing Arts at Purdue University. She teaches many avenues of photography related courses including, black and white photography, digital photography, documentary photography, alternative process, the artist’s book, professional and commercial practices, and history of photography. Molly received her MFA in Photography from Purdue University in the Spring of 2018 and her BFA in Photography from the University of South Alabama in the Fall of 2013. While attending Purdue University Molly received the Graduate Teaching in Excellence Award for the department for the 2017-2018 academic year. Molly is a process-based artist that melds digital, traditional, and alternative photographic practices with mixed media to explore her emotions and personal strife.
