Joseph holds an M.A. in TESOL from Michigan State University and a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. He has taught EFL/ESL courses for over 25 years and trained EFL teachers at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition to the U.S. and New Zealand, Joseph has worked or studied in the United Kingdom, Germany, Israel, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of China, and the P.R.C. His major research interests are vocabulary learning, program design, and cross-cultural understanding.
