Electronic waste in the United States and Australia

Gideon is interested in electronic waste in the United States and Australia, focusing on household consumption and discard of a wide range of electronic devices such as cell phones, computers, electric toothbrushes, and guitar amplifiers. He is currently conducting research in Tippecanoe county where he is conductive ethnographic research with electronics recyclers, policy makers, and households. In addition to ethnography, Gideon uses geographic information systems to conduct spatial analysis and design web applications to help households mitigate the environmental impacts of there electronic devices.
