Chen Yang, is a fourth-year PhD student in philosophy. He majored in geochemistry in his undergraduate studies, and then pursued a master’s degree in philosophy at Warwick, England. Currently, his research focuses on the first 300 pages of Hegel’s Science of Logic, especially the concept of infinity. Ideally, this research will lead to a discussion of the possible or impossible interactions between Hegel’s conceptual analysis of infinity and contemporary mathematical practice, especially set theory and non-standard analysis.
