Ben specializes in analytic political philosophy and ethics. Ben is doing his dissertation on contractualism and animals, so he has a special emphasis on Scanlon's contractualism, Brian Barry's political application of it, and animal ethics. Ben also has a good knowledge of (and great respect for) both Rawlsian liberalism and the capabilities approach. Ben has further interests in the political philosophy of Ronald Dworkin, Joseph Raz, and G.A. Cohen, as well as philosophy of law.
