Inclusion and Religion

Purdue researchers in anthropology, sociology and English make considerable impact on public discussions of religion, and we have several interdisciplinary programs and centers that focus on religion. We recently partnered with Jewish Studies, Women’s Studies and  community  groups to sponsor a showing and discussion of the movie “Women of the Wall,” which discusses the struggle of Jewish women in Israel to attain equal rights of religious practice at the Western Wall. This year, we are working  to organize a symposium on other subtopics within this theme.
