Boiler Research Analysis for Social Sciences

The College of Liberal Arts has sponsored the development and creation of a secure research hub for all areas of the social sciences to perform data analysis and computing. The Boiler Research Analysis for Social Sciences (BRASS) is avaliable to any faculty researcher at Purdue to perform critical data analysis remotely from a server without the need to run data sets from a personal computer.

BRASS

BRASS was created by the College of Liberal Arts to address the need of providing easy to use and readily available analysis tools for researchers in the Social Sciences.

Since it is a remote server, researchers can connect from either a PC or MAC anywhere on campus.  You can also connect from anywhere outside of campus through a secure VPN connection.  Jobs are started on the remote server and left running without taking up resources on the researcher’s local computer.

BRASS is intended to be a flexible and evolving platform to meet our researcher’s needs.  Our intent is to allow you more time to do your research instead of worrying about purchasing software and hardware.  We welcome feedback to add additional software, improve performance, collaborate, and share ideas.  Please let us know how we can help.
