  • My research interests focus on investigating innovation in indigenous copper technologies of the central North American Arctic and Subarctic.  Methodologically, this incorporates geospatial cost-distance modeling of social and environmental landscapes, compositional analyses using pXRF, and the examination of diversity in artifact morphologies of copper objects from across the North.  In addition, I am involved in the investigation of the development and dissolution of complex Mississippian villages in the Illinois River Valley using archaeo-geophysical survey methodologies.
