  • Bioarchaeology, Gender Archaeology, Gender and Identity

  • My specialties are in bioarchaeology and gender archaeology. My research focuses on using biomechanical analyses in order to determine the activities of ancient peoples. By doing so, my interest is in interpreting gender roles and social identities by looking at the bones of individuals as well as the context in which they are buried. My geographic region of interest is the Eurasian Steppes, with my current focus in Mongolia, dealing with the early Iron Age culture of the Xiongnu. My faculty adviser is Ian Lindsay.
