Julie was named the 2006 U.S. Olympic Committee Paralympic Coach of the Year after her team won the overall medal count, the first time the U.S. had won a medal count at the International Paralympic Committee World Championships.   Under Julie’s leadership, the 2008 U.S. Paralympic Swimming Team finished first in the medal standings in the Beijing Paralympic Games with 44 total medals.  U.S. swimmers set 16 world records, 48 Pan American records, and 99 American records in Beijing.
