Tennyson started her career in job placement, became the director of a small nonprofit foundation, and worked a year in university administration.

Subsequently, she spent over twenty years in the software industry. Specializing in financial and manufacturing systems, she held consulting, sales and management positions with fortune 100 and mid-sized companies, including Xerox and Unitronix. For 8 years she was owner and President of her own consulting business, Basix Business Solutions, Inc., which provided business system consulting and support to mid-sized companies in the Southern California area.  Ms. Tennyson repeatedly received distinguished sales recognition both as a reseller with Basix and as a sales professional with Xerox and Unitronix.  She successfully sold Basix in 2000.

Since then she has served on non-profit boards in various roles.  She is married to Peter Tennyson (BA, Political Science with Honors in Economics, 1968) and has four grown children (Rachel Tennyson received a BS, RHIT, 1998.).  She and her husband are members of the President’s Council and participate in alumni events in Southern California.
