  • Erin Canfield is super stoked to start her first year at Purdue shooting for an MFA in Technical Direction. She has been involved in theatre for the better part of eighteen years. The lesser parts of those years were spent thinking about becoming a magician. She is coming to Indiana from Atlanta, where she worked tooth and nail for five years. Georgia Shakespeare, Alliance Theatre, Center for Puppetry Arts, The Goat Farm Arts Center, and Nucleus Sculpture Studio amongst others all formed and shaped her into the artist she is today. She gained her Bachelors of Arts from the University of Tennessee: Knoxville. There Don, Skeeter, Marty, and Weston made sure she learned “to work smarter, not harder.” She hopes to make them proud. She has engineered, drafted, welded, painted, sound designed, sewn, illuminated, propped, or managed so many shows she cannot begin to count. More than anything, she is pleased as punch to have a family who supports what she does despite not understanding her job description at times. But they always try.
