Purdue University offers several opportunities for students to engage in co-curricular opportunities and to develop their leadership and design potentials while making life-long friendships. Student Organizations and Clubs

Delta Phi Delta Fine Arts Club
This student organization serves to promote the academic, political, social, economical, and artistic ideals in Fine Arts discipline at Purdue University. This organization offers a summer workshop scholarship competition which helps to support sending students to workshops regionally, nationally and internationally. 

ACM SIGGRAPH Student Chapter
Purdue University ACM SIGGRAPH Chapter is a student chapter of the ACM SIGGRAPH organization, which is an acronym for Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group on Graphics and Interactive Techniques.

TEDxPurdueU Committee
The purpose of this committee is to curate, organize, and execute TEDx events at Purdue University in accordance with the responsibilities required of TEDx conference organizers. More info.

The Anvil Coworking Space
The Anvil is a student-run coworking space at Purdue University. Started in 2013, it operates as a cornerstone of entrepreneurship in West Lafayette. Located across from the Purdue Memorial Union, we’re a centralized place open 24/7 for student and community members to collaborate and work on awesome projects and businesses.

Photography Club
Purdue Photography Club is made up of independent amateur photographers, ranging in skill from novice to advanced. Our meetings consist of photo critique nights, guest speakers, demos, and presentations. Anyone affiliated with Purdue may join the club.

Purdue Virtual Reality Club (PVRC)
Purdue Virtual Reality Club is an organization that aims to help Purdue students know more about the raising technology, virtual reality, and to create an environment for projects design.

Purdue Click
This organization shall serve to promote the academic, political, social, economical, and artistic ideals of photography at Purdue University. Specifically, the organization deals with students who are serious about photography.

Purdue Hackers
Purdue Hackers is a group of students who like having fun with computers and technology. We do not use hacking to mean 'cracking security systems.' Only movies do that.

3D Printing Club (3DPC)
3DPC aims to promote and teach Purdue students about the concepts and practices of a new manufacturing process called three-dimensional printing. This club will offer, to all students, education and a hands on experience with this technology.

Game Developers United
This club's main focus is to provide students who are interested in the development and production of an interactive video game (graphic art, modeling, programming, etc) are given a look into the pipeline and a chance to be involved in it.

Film and Video Studies
An Organization for current Purdue Film and Video Studies Students to collaborate on projects for the West Lafayette and Lafayette Community.

Students Growing Sustainable Communities (SGSC)
Students Growing Sustainable Communities is a Purdue University student organization powered by highly motivated students to grow local and global communities through sustainability-focused projects.


Campus and Local Exhibitions & Awards

Undergraduate Exhibition and Awards

The Art and Design Juried Undergraduate Exhibition is an annual juried exhibition organized by the Department of Art and Design and shown in the Patti and Rusty Rueff Galleries. All works may be priced for sale. 

Westwood Exhibition Semiannual Juried Art Competition 
This is a juried graduate and undergraduate art and design exhibition at Westwood, the residence of Purdue University’s president. All works may be priced for sale.

MFA Exhibition
In the third year of study, graduate students focus on production of their MFA exhibition and thesis.

Steven Sprague Award
Steven Sprague Award is a memorial award for Excellence in photography.

College of Liberal Arts Graduate Student Research Support Program
Promoting research opportunities to maximize innovation and scholarly excellence. 

National and International Competitions And Exhibitions

International Society of Electronic Arts (ISEA) Annual Conference - International non-profit organization fostering interdisciplinary academic discourse and exchange among culturally diverse organisations and individuals working with art, science and technology.

Transmediale Berlin - Annual festival for media art and digital culture taking place for one week in February in Berlin, Germany.

Ars Electronica - Cultural, educational and scientific institute in Linz, Austria, active in the field of new media art, and organizer of one of the most prestigious annual competitions in new media art, the Prix Ars Electronica.

SIGGRAPH Art Gallery - Art Gallery component of the Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques international conference.

Science Gallery Dublin -  A public science center at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland with a focus on exhibitions and lectures on science outreach and art-science collaborations.

Outreach

Integrated Studio Arts High School Competition 
Annual art competition and exhibition juried by Integrated Studio Arts faculty open to high school students residing in the United States.

Area Workshops 
Student photographer and members of ‘Click’ organization provide annual workshops to local arts community to teach basic skills and techniques in photography.


Volunteering/Internship

Students are encouraged to apply for internship or volunteer positions at museums and galleries, for example the Indianapolis Museum of Art, Indianapolis Art Center or one of the many cultural institutions in Chicago. Students are strongly encouraged to seek internship with local commercial photographers to gain a better understanding of real world photography experience
