Afton Marie Goins

Spanish major Afton Marie Goins has taken knitting to new heights.  A member of PUNK (Purdue University Neoteric Knitters), Afton enjoys the friendly community of like-minded creative knitters. But knitting is just one of her passions. Afton, who also has a major in early childhood education and a minor in creative writing, hopes to work at a preschool where she can work with gifted children and introduce Spanish at an early age.  Afton’s advice to new students? “My ultimate piece of advice is first of all to know yourself and love yourself, and second of all to love yourself enough to be able to won up and admit when you’re wrong so that you can grow better from it.  Take criticism gracefully and use it to improve yourself.”
