  • Soufien Jarraya is a Fulbright scholar and native of Tunisia. He holds a master’s degree in Applied Languages from Tunisia and a master’s in Linguistics from Syracuse University, where he taught French before joining Purdue University as a Continuing Lecturer in Arabic. He worked as an interpreter and taught Arabic in Missouri Southern State University as well as the U.S State Department Foreign Service Institute. In addition, taught Arabic in the School of International Training Study-Abroad Program, at the U.S State Department Critical Languages Scholarship Program and the Middlebury College Arabic Program. Among his areas of interest: Translation, Pragmatics, Discourse Analysis, and Conversational Analysis.
