  • Rich Rand has acted on and off Broadway and worked in regional theatres throughout the United States, Europe and Canada – directing, choreographing or acting in 150 productions. He has written and toured numerous one-person shows and is the recipient of an Indiana Arts Commission-National Endowment for the Arts Artist Fellowship for solo performance. His work has been published in Movement for Actors by Allworth Press (2017), Companion to Commedia dell”Arte by Routledge (2015),  Baseball Monologues and More Monologues for Men by Men by Heinemann Press, Hopewell Journal - New Work by Indiana’s Best WritersSycamore ReviewSlipstream and other journals. The recipient of numerous teaching awards and an honored member of Purdue’s Book of Great Teachers, Rich frequently lectures on the art of teaching, leadership, and character. Since his arrival at Purdue, Rich has been invited to sixty universities and theatres and served as resident guest artist at the Maggie Flanigan Studio in NYC, University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater, NAFA-Singapore, University of Missouri-Kansas City, FSU/Asolo Conservatory, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, The Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Brandeis University, The College of William and Mary, Centre College, University of Rochester, Berea College, Franklin College, and West Virginia Wesleyan College. At Purdue University, Rich teaches acting and movement in the undergraduate and MFA acting programs. He has served as President of the Association for Theatre Movement Educators, Undergraduate Coordinator, Interim Chair, and Chair of Purdue Theatre.
