Rhetoric and Composition

The graduate program in Rhetoric and Composition at Purdue is located in the Department of English. Our graduates work in a variety of different professional positions as faculty members, writing program and writing center administrators, graduate program directors, department heads and other higher administrative positions. Graduates also work in industry as editors, usability experience designers, and professional and technical writers/managers.

We support our students through ongoing individual and group mentoring, robust professional development opportunities, and graduate seminars that are tailored to students’ interests. Our program is especially known for its in-depth job market support and faculty-led course during the job market year.
