Artist Statement
Linda Kliewer
I am a lesbian, a documentary photographer and a filmmaker. I grew up in a time when all of the images of lesbians and gays, of queers, were negative. This is only now beginning to change. Archiving lesbian and gay communities is a way of recording my own history. I do this to define and represent myself; to be visible in the world.
