My work deals with issues found in a society in transition from a predominantly white European culture, to one whose growing Latino and Asian population affects and influences everything, from the food we eat, the music we listen to, to the way we view the rest of the world.
Valerie Soe is a former AAWAA member and her work is featured in both the AAWAA and WoCA slide projects.

© Flo Oy Wong, 1997As an American artist of Chinese descent, I retrieve metaphors from my ancestral culture to aesthetically examine my sense of bifurcation. I seek transformation of family, cultural, and collective issues that are emotionally corrosive.
Flo Oy Wong is a founding member of AAWAA and was instrumental in the creation of the WoCA slide project. Her work is featured in both projects.
