The Envision Center Discoverers
Location: Envision Center, Stewart Center B001
Students, would you like to get your feet wet in Virtual Reality by learning about the programming going on behind the scenes? Maybe just get a jump start on your modeling skills, and learn how to bring your models into VR? Learn how to do Motion Capture, and see how it and these other technologies can be used in video games, movies, entertainment and research? How would you like to do it all for FREE?
If so, then we want you to get involved with Virtual Reality and Motion Capture at Purdue's Envision Center for Data Perceptualization! Come join the Envision Center's Discoverers group! Learn the basics and some applications of these amazing technologies over the course of the semester.
The Discoverers will be hosting several tracks of learning this semester, spanning Virtual Reality, Modeling and Motion Capture. Students may choose to attend sessions from one or all learning tracks. Students participating in the MoCap track will have the opportunity to learn how to operate our Optical Motion Capture System and to participate on Envision Center hosted projects. Participants of the VR or Modeling track can learn how to create and display 3D assets and environments on PC or in our Immersive Virtual Reality Theater.
The Envision Center is located in the tunnel (back to back with Zia) between Purdue Memorial Union and the Stewart Center. The Discoverers is open to all Purdue students, of any major, so don't hesitate to invite friends. Learning track material will be geared towards the skill levels of the participating students, all levels of skill and experience are welcome.
We look forward to seeing you,
