BZC - Bazuco Media Corporation
BAZUCO MEDIA CORP. was founded in 2005 by Industrial Designer and Artist Juan Obando, international award-winner Interactive Designer Juan Ospina and Media Journalist Daniel Clavijo as a project for a Media Company based in Bogota, Colombia under the “Medium is the message” doctrine. BZC is a brand of mass mediatic products. toxic, yet very entertaining. BZC looks for fresh, dynamic and caustic performances and acts that reflect the broken-down reality of our present times without having to talk literally about them. BZC is the product of a generation that acknowledges the fact that old politics hadn’t achieve any change in the past years and that cultural production and distribution define our concepts of democracy, nationality and sovereignty. In August 2006 BZC realesed a first product, BZC RADIO, a weekly podcast show in which the hosts performed cynically towards the culture industry, mixing and twisting popular culture through music, becoming the number one show in Colombia and Venezuela and a platform for the BZC music stars. BZC represents artists like Danilo El Romantico, NOFUTURO, Juan-ex-Band, Las Ultrafabulosas, Independiente 81 and Los Jackson, and since 2006 has worked as a net-label for all these acts, builiding a roster of new musical talents and an archive of a upgrowing music scene. CDs, zines, posters, t-shirts, stickers and events of high graphic content work both as physical and visual platforms to express the ideas of the company and also as art fetish and advertising material for the brand. 2008 welcomed BZC with a selection for the National Art Salon in Colombia.
