Department of Theatre Scholarships
Several scholarships are available to Theatre majors at Purdue. Incoming students complete a single application for all scholarships. For a copy of the application click here. To receive a hard copy, e-mail theatre@purdue.edu. Continuing / returning students use this application. Alpha Chi Omega Scholarship

| Criteria |
For a student who will be a sophomore, junior, or senior in the year for which the scholarship is awarded. The student must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and a minimum GPA of 2.5 for the previous semester. Selected on the basis of demonstrated artistic excellence either in visual or performing arts classes as a major or non-major or through participation in a campus arts organizatino. These organizations include, but a re not limited to, Theatre, University Bands, Purdue Musical Organizations, and Black Cultural Center groups. Selected by Committee. |

Marietta Stallard Kettlehut Memorial Scholarship
The Marietta Stallard Kettelhut Memorial Scholarship was established in December 1999 by Mary Ann Combs (BS 1954, History; MS 1991, Education) in memory of her mother, Marietta Stallard Kettelhut (BS 1927, CFS).

Dorothy Runk Mennen Scholarship in Theatre

| Criteria |
Merit-based scholarship given to upperclassmen (junior or senior with at least one semester of additional study remaining at Purdue) who have made outstanding artistic or carft contributions during their years of studying theatre at Purdue and who have provided notable support and encouragement of their fellow students. |

PAF Theatre Merit Award

| Amount | $500-$1,000 |
| Criteria |
Intended for an incoming freshman who declares a Theatre major at Purdue. Presented by the chairperson of the Division of Theatre after consultation with the faculty of the division. Criteria: Applicants shall have been active in theatre programs in high school and demonstrate promise in theatre via interview and/or audition with Purdue Theatre faculty. |

Joe Stockdale/Ross Smith Theatre Scholarship
| This scholarship was established in August 1999 by Peter and Hope Schneider, Robert and Caroline Brunner, and others in honor of Joe Stockdale and Ross Smith. Joe Stockdale was Professor of Theatre at Purdue for over 25 years and director of the LORT Purdue Professional Theatre Company. Ross Smith was a Purdue faculty member from 1942 through 1967 and became head of the Theatre Department in 1947. Professors Smith and Stockdale were the inaugural recipients of the Purdue Theatre Legacy Award. Smith served as co-chair of the Purdue Playshop with Stockdale, who co-founded the Purdue Professional Theatre Company. | ![]() ![]() |
