High School Theatre Workshop Day
Saturday, September 29, 2007

Join us for this fun, educational and FREE event to be held in the Yue-Kong Pao Hall of Visual and Performing Arts. Don’t let your students miss this outstanding opportunity to learn from the Purdue Theatre faculty and staff. The workshop program will culminate with a matinee production of Larry Shue’s ever-popular comedy The Foreigner at a special price of $5 (which includes a complimentary lunch). A new format will allow all students to attend all workshops, but participation is limited for both the workshop and matinee, so students are encouraged to return the enclosed registration form no later than Monday, September 24. Additional forms may be downloaded at the bottom of this page.

How do they do that?
Hansen Theatre
Every production has its technological magic tricks, and The Foreigner is no exception. See how Purdue Theatre uses different materials and technologies to make giant logs float above actors’ heads, create log-cabin walls that are light as air, and cause an actor to melt into the floor and disappear!

Conversation with the Director

Meet Larry Sommers, director for The Foreigner, who has directed nearly 35 productions over the past 20 years.

Sound Design: Not so Foreign after all!
Hansen Theatre
