My Most Outrageous Interview Experience:
I had an interview scheduled with HR at BMG (Bertelsmann Music Group) for the week after Thanksgiving. The week before I slipped and broke my leg and thought I would have to postpone the interview. I decided to go because it was a great company to work for and I didn’t want to miss this opportunity. I went but had NO idea just how big this company was – physically. The HR person asked if I needed a wheelchair to take me to the interview location. I said no as I thought it would be just a short distance. Turned out it was clear across the plant. I asked for a wheelchair for the return trip to HR. I did get the job!
My Worst Job:
Correctional facility – Indianapolis, IN. When the guards were short-handed I had to fill in doing the frisking when inmates would come back to the facility for the night. It was not my favorite thing to do. Or when we did snap inspections of rooms, I was expected to help. Glad I’m not doing that any more.
My Hobbies:
Woodworking, model railroading, reading, gardening, cross-stitch
My Organizations:
Civil Air Patrol
My Words of Inspiration for Liberal Arts Students:
Get your degree. Enjoy each day to the fullest. It’s not just about the grades, it’s also about the knowledge and experience.
