My Major Path:

  • 1st Major: Mass Communications
  • 2nd Major: History (BA ’99 Colorado State University- Fort Collins)

  • MS.Ed. in Curriculum Studies (’04 Purdue University)

Currently a doctoral student in the Department of Curriculum Studies. 

My Career Path:

  • Newspaper reporter for the La Junta Tribune-Democrat.
  • Intern at KBLJ 92.1 FM.
  • Disc jockey at Rev 89.5 FM and KCSU 90.5 FM.
  • Associate Editor, Adoption Today magazine.
  • Deputy Clerk, Larimer County Clerk and Recorder’s Office
  • Secretary;  Research Communications & Program Support Assistant; Assistant to the Director of Multicultural Programs; Assistant to the Director of Development/Internship Coordinator- all at Purdue University.
  • Currently: Career Development Graduate Assistant, Graduate Research Assistant for STEM Goes Rural, Instructor for ASAM 240: Introduction to Asian American Studies.

My Most Outrageous Interview Experience:

I cannot think of any particular outrageous interview experience, but I can list (and I cringe as I write this) a number of interview faux pas in my past because I simply was unaware of proper interview etiquette.

My Worst Job:

Attempting to assemble furniture during a summer stint at Pier One Imports during my undergrad years.

My Dream Job:

To be an author and travel the world.

My Hobbies:

Writing, reading, working out, riding my mountain bike, long motorcycle rides, watching Battlestar Galacticaand Entourage, spending long afternoons in random coffee houses with my laptop and a fully charged iPod.

My Organizations:

Council on Asian American Studies, American Educational Research Association, National Association of Multicultural Education.
