Students read faster with better comprehension. The strategies will be practiced in several books chosen by the student
GS 25000 - College Reading Skills and Applications (3 credits) (arrange 1-hour lab)
Strengthen your critical thinking skills while reading your college textbooks. Students will learn how to organize their textbook reading quickly to find and mark the main ideas and supporting material. They will then practice the rehearsal strategies important to being successful on exams. There is alsá?Ľo an emphasis on vocabulary and reading speed.
GS 25000 - College Reading Skills for Sociology (3 credits)
The current schedule of classes lists the co-requisite section(s) of SOC 10000. Register now for both classes. (arrange 1 hour lab) Freshmen & Sophomores only.
If you find yourself procrastinating the reading for sociology and other classes, this is the course for you!! You will strengthen the critical reading and thinking skills necessary to be successful in SOC 10000. You will also be a better test taker in SOC 10000. Register now for both classes.

Learn key words fundamental to understanding concepts in several content areas, for example: Biology, Mathematics, Social Sciences, and Business.
