Pre-Physical Therapy

Physical therapists help to restore clients to normal functioning of the musculoskeletal and other systems by using therapeutic exercise, physical agents, and assistive devices. Physical therapists work in hospitals, outpatient facilities, industrial settings, health agencies, educational settings, extended care facilities, and private practice settings

An undergraduate degree in any area and specific prerequisite courses are required for admission into physical therapy programs. Students interested in pursuing this profession complete their undergraduate degree and take the prerequisite courses needed to meet the entrance requirements. Suggested majors include Athletic Training, Movement and Sport Sciences, Health Promotion, Health and Fitness, or Psychology.
