In order to advance the social scientific study of religion in China, a discussion group has been established since 2003.  This group is exclusively for scholars and students discussing Chinese religions (including religions among the Chinese anywhere in the world) from social scientific perspectives.   As of March 2006, over 140 people had joined.  To join, please go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ChineseSSSR/

用社会科学的方法和理论研究宗教，这在汉语学术圈中尚需努力开拓。这种研究与人文的或神学的宗教学主要不同之处，在于用实证的（empirical）方法，系统地收集数据资料，并对此进行客观的分析。“实证、系统、客观”，这是我们的研究所竭力争取的目标和评价准绳。设立此论坛是为了有志于此的的学生和学者进行交流。本论坛只对于有这种学术兴趣的人开放。
