Alumni
Purdue sociology alumni who specialized in health, aging, life course, or health services research have achieved a distinguished record of accomplishments. After earning the PhD in sociology from Purdue University, graduates have held faculty positions at top universities including, but not limited to: California (Berkeley and Los Angeles), Case Western Reserve, Duke, Florida, Minnesota, North Carolina, Texas (Houston), Wisconsin College of Medicine, and Yale. In addition, several alumni currently hold endowed professorships, and two have been awarded honorary doctorates from Purdue. Alumni in applied settings have been employed at a variety of institutions including Agency for Health Care Policy Research, Blue Cross-Blue Shield, Health Care Financing Administration, National Institute of Dental Research, and Research Triangle Institute.
