Graduate Certificate in Survey Research
The Department of Sociology offers a Graduate Certificate in Survey Research. The program provides graduate students the skills necessary to conduct sample surveys using state of the art technology and software. Students are exposed to a variety of survey techniques, including computer assisted telephone interviewing (CATI), computer assisted self interviewing (CASI), Web surveys, e-mail surveys, Mixed Mode surveys, as well as standard paper and pencil surveys.
The certificate requires the completion of four courses:
SOC 580 – Methods of Social Research II
SOC 583 – Application of Social Research Methods
SOC 680 – Advanced Social Research Methods
SOC 681 – Selected Problems of Social Research
