Within the department and the university there exists
a full range of facilities and equipment necessary for
the conduct of research in speech and hearing science,
linguistics, speech-language pathology, and audiology.
Department facilities include laboratories equipped
to study speech and hearing processes on various acoustical,
physiological, and psychological levels. Laboratories
contain specialized computer systems, an anechoic chamber,
several sound-treated rooms and audiological test suites,
and a professionally staffed electronics shop. Interdisciplinary
research is available in all schools and departments
within the University. Excellent library facilities
and computerized databases are available for scientific
reference.
