Sample Program Minimums

MS-SLP Academic Advising Checklist

Pre-requisite minimums

3 semester credits in the physical sciences
3 semester credits in the biological sciences
3 semester credits in college mathematics (including statistics)
6 semester credits in behavioral/social sciences

3 semester credits in normal anatomy & physiology for speech and hearing (SLHS 304)
3 semester credits in acoustics or normal phonology (SLHS 302)
3 semester credits in linguistics or normal language development (SLHS 309)

3 semester credits in statistics (PSY 201, PSY 500, STAT 501, SOC 382 or waiver approved by the Graduate Committee)
3 semester credits in aural rehabilitation other than sign language (SLHS 450)
3 semester credits in hearing disorders and hearing evaluation (SLHS 460)

6 additional credits from the above areas or speech/language disorders (SLHS 306, SLHS 349 etc.)

9 credits of electives in speech or language disorders (Up to 6 thesis research credits may be applied to this requirement if the content is approved by the Graduate Committee)
