Our application process is online at the Graduate
school web site. Paper applications are no longer
available.
The required grade point average is 3.0 or the equivalent
of a B on your undergraduate or post graduate course
work. Official reports of Graduate Record Examination
(GRE) scores from tests taken within five years of the
date of planned entry into a program are required of
all applicants.
International students whose native language is not
English must submit the following:
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), An official
report of at least 620 (260 computer based)
TSE (Test of Spoken English), a score of 50 or above
TWE (Test of Written English), a score of 5 or above
ALL documents must be received by January 15th.
All documents go directly to the SLHS Department.
Prerequisite Program
Applicants with a bachelor's degree are accepted as
a prerequisite applicant and reviewed the same way as
applicant's with a bachelor's degree in Communication
disorders or Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. The list
of prerequisite courses are available here.
A prerequisite program will take approximately one more
year to complete than the regular four year Au.D. program.
An application fee of $55 is required of all applicants.

Purpose (300-500 word essay). This can be emailed
as an attachment to baileywf@purdue.edu
or mailed traditionally.
GRE scores: List Purdue Speech,
Language, and Hearing Sciences as one of the destination schools
and departments or we will not receive your GRE
scores and your file will not be complete. International
students must also take the TOEFL, TWE and TSE
exam and have the scores reported to the Purdue
University.

- Documents that you must ask others to send:
1. Three letters
of recommendation. It is helpful to give the
recommendation forms to your reference writers
at least 14-21 days before the deadline date
and to attach a prominent note to remind the writer
of this date (we suggest December 15th).
2. Official transcripts
from every college or university that you have
attended. If your fall grades are not available
to be on your transcript by late December, have
the available transcripts sent and inform us of
your grades. International transcripts should
be sent in your native language as well a translation
in English.

can be downloaded from the Graduate
School web site.
Please note any other names that you have used
in school on all documents sent. We receive documents
with different names on them and have no way of
connecting them unless you tell us.
