PSRL Discussions: Panel Discussion April 11, 2013
4 April 2013
For a third year in a row, PSRL will sponsor an event in celebration of milestones in the history of the series. The 2013 event will be a panel discussion among three specialists in Spanish literature. Titled "Recent Approaches on Emilia Pardo Bazán's Critical Works," this year's event will take place on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at 4:30 pm, in Beering Hall, Room 2280, on Purdue's campus. Participating in the discussion will be Maryellen Bieder (Indiana University and one of PSRL's associate editors), Lou Charnon-Deutsch (SUNY Stony Brook and author of Gender and Representation: Women and Spanish Realist Fiction, volume 32 in the PUMRL part of the series), and Carmen Pereira-Muro (Texas Tech University and author of Género, nación y literatura: Emilia Pardo Bazán en la literatura gallega y española, PSRL 56). The moderator will be Iñigo Sánchez Llama, PSRL series editor. The panelists will discuss the topic "Gender, Nationalism, and the Literary Canon in Nineteenth-Century Spain: Analysis of the Perspective of Emilia Pardo Bazán (1851-1921)." Past events have celebrated 50 years of Purdue University Press and the publication of the 50th volume of the PSRL series. This year we are anticipating the publication of the 100th volume of the combined PUMRL-PSRL series, which will be PSRL vol. 58, announced for Fall 2013. All are invited to attend. The event is free and open to the public.
