CLA Scholarships and Awards for New and Continuing Students
With the help of our generous donors, the College of Liberal Arts offers scholarships for both beginning and continuing students. Beginning student scholarships are announced mid-February to early March. Continuing student scholarships are typically awarded later in the spring. Scholarships are available to any College of Liberal Arts student enrolled at the Purdue University- West Lafayette campus.
Beginning Students
//New Freshmen
To ensure maximum consideration for Purdue scholarships, future freshmen applying for fall should complete and submit their application for admission and all required material to Purdue University for a major in the College of Liberal Arts by the November 1 Early Action admission application deadline. A limited number of College and departmental scholarships will be awarded based on merit and/or need. Some CLA scholarships are given based on merit AND financial need as determined by the FAFSA. We encourage all students to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by January 1 in order to maximize consideration for all federal, state, and institutional funds they may be eligible to receive.
Theatre majors only: Theatre Department scholarship application.
FOR ALL OTHER MAJORS, THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FOR CLA INCOMING STUDENTS.
Incoming student scholarships will be awarded beginning February of eacha academic year; only students awarded will be notified.

Continuing Students
//Students who have completed at least one semester at Purdue, or who are transferring from another institution
To be considered for scholarships and awards within CLA, all students must complete the College of Liberal Arts Returning Students Scholarship Application. This application will be available from January 1 to April 1 of each academic year. All continuing scholarships will be awarded on or before June 30.. Only students receiving a scholarship award will be notified.

Purdue University uses the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine eligibility for financial assistance. January 1 of each year is the priority filing deadline for the FAFSA. You can pick up this form from your high school guidance office or you can file online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. Financial Aid Office
Computer access to student financial aid status is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week on the web (http://myPurdue.purdue.edu); students may also email questions to http://www.purdue.edu/dfa/contact/ or fax information to 765-494-6707. Financial aid counselors are available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. by telephone (765-494-5050).
