Sexual Harassment Advisors' Network

What issues does SHAN handle?

Concerned individuals approach network members with a wide variety of issues relating to sexual harassment. Examples of situations brought to the attention of network advisors include: demeaning or hostile comments by faculty members or student peers in the classroom or office, intimidating telephone calls or emails, instances of unwanted and inappropriate touching, and physical assault. Contacts with the network have been initiated by men and women who are faculty, staff, and students, both graduate and undergraduate. They include individuals who are experiencing a problem directly, those who contact SHAN on behave of a friend or co-worker, and people who observe possible incidents of sexual harassment.
