Need computing help now?
The IT Service Desk is available from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Email ithelp@purdue.edu, call 66333, or visit us in Recitation Building, room 407.
For computing support, faculty and staff in the college may contact the Liberal Arts IT Service Desk. IT staff members will be available to take your phone calls and respond to your e-mail inquiries from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Using one e-mail address (ithelp@purdue.edu) or one telephone number (66333), you may contact a team of IT staff members for help.
When we receive your inquiry, we will enter your requests or problems into a ticket tracking system and assign the ticket to a CLA IT staff member. If the problem is an emergency, we'll take care of it as soon as possible. For issues which are not urgent, the assigned staff member will schedule time with you later that day or the next to resolve the problem.
Our goals for redesigning the computer support system are:- to have IT professionals available to answer the phone
- to offer more timely resolution of issues
- to provide better support when a site specialist is out of the office
- to be able to track all problems and see trends
- to provide better computer support in general
Together, we are the first-contact computing support team for faculty and staff in many academic and administrative units in the College of Liberal Arts. We support these academic areas:
- African-American Studies
- Communication
- English
- History
- Health & Kinesiology
- Jewish Studies
- Philosophy
- Political Science
- Women's Studies
- Visual and Performing Arts
We also provide support to these administrative areas:
- Administration (including the dean's office, development office, and central business office)
- Galleries
- Interdisciplinary Studies (main office)
- Student Services (including Advising, the Academic Success Center, Honors, and Supplemental Instruction)
Other departments and units within Liberal Arts continue to be served by the IT staff members assigned to those areas.
