Prospective Students
Samantha
Samantha is from Lake Zurich, Illinois. She is studying Interior Design along with a minor in French Language. In addition to being an active member of the Dean’s Ambassador program, Samantha is a representative for the Liberal Arts Honors Program and the SATS Learning Community Ambassador Leadership Program and Boiler Gold Rush. Samantha is also the sophomore class representative for Purdue’s chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers.
Samantha was inspired to study interior design from a long-term interest in art and design. She says, “when I was a kid I always loved arts and crafts and redecorating my bedroom when my parents would allow me to. I love that I am able to turn a childhood hobby into a career.” Her love for art, interior design, and French was furthered by summer trips to France, Spain and London. Now a sophomore at Purdue, Samantha plans to pursue a career in health care design to incorporate interior design, technology, and public service.
As for her career goals, Samantha says, "I love that a career in interior design allows me to explore so many different avenues, whether it be residential, commercial, or health care design I will always be able to do what I love. My education in Liberal Arts gives me the ability to be flexible with whatever field of design I choose.”
