Prospective Students

Nicole

Nicole joins us from New York, New York for her major in Law and Society and minor in Spanish.

How did you choose your major?: "When I came to Purdue I chose another major but after taking the introduction course I realized that it wasn't the right fit.  So I sat down and made a list of what I like to do and what I do well.  One thing I noticed was that I like to be actively involved in community work and making a difference.  My advisor recommended Law and Society and I love what I am now learning."

On the value of a Liberal Arts education: "A Liberal Arts education is more than just an education that is based specifically on one subject.  It creates a well rounded person with  experience on difference subjects whether it be from modern dance to physics."

Nicole is involved on campus with Black Voices of Inspiration, DRIVEN (Diversity Retention Initiatives through Volunteering Education Networking), the Black Student Union Fashion Show, and the Week without Violence program.  She also finds time to continue to be a member of the Girl Scouts and the Harlem Educational Activities Fun Onward.
