Dan
Dan is a senior from Indianapolis, Indiana. He is a double major in Communication and Psychology. Not only is Dan a member of the Liberal Arts Dean’s Ambassadors, but he also holds leadership positions in a variety of student clubs and organizations including Boiler STeam, Old Masters, the College of Liberal Arts Leadership Council, and Dan is also an intern with the Office of Admissions at Purdue.
After trying on many hats a Purdue and experiencing different majors, Dan has finally found his home in Liberal Arts. Dan is a very outgoing person and loves to help others, and has found his Communication and Psychology focus to be a great asset to his college experience.
Dan is a campus leader in many capacities. In addition to his role as a tour guide for the office of admissions, Dan is Co-Director for Boiler Steam, a volunteer tour guide organization. Dan also holds a position on the Central Committee for Old Masters, which is a program focused on bringing distinguished alumni back to the university. Dan has also served as a supervisor for Boiler Gold Rush, the new student orientation program at Purdue. Through his internship with the office of Admissions, Dan works with the communication team to effectively communicate with prospective and admitted students of Purdue University.
When asked what he wanted to do after college, Dan replied, “I am not exactly sure, but my hope is to go on to help people in one way or another…I either want to help college students by being an advisor, or I want to help adults by being a consultant for large organizations.” Dan definitely sees graduate school on the horizon at some point.
“I have found the staff and professors in the College of Liberal Arts to be unlike any other,” says Dan. “I have found it to be an amazing experience working one-on-one with so many wonderful people in the College of Liberal Arts.” Dan has found his time with Liberal Arts to be rewarding and “top-notch.”
