Colleen

Colleen joins us from South Bend, Indiana for her majors in Comparative Literature and English.  She is minoring in Spanish.

How did you choose your major?  "I discovered my academic passions through high school class work.  My two favorite classes were Spanish and English.  In Spanish we spent a majority of the time reading and discussing short stories, which made me happy.  My English teacher did an excellent job of choosing a variety of literature for our class, which made me excited about all things English.  This led to a debate over Spanish or English as my major.  Luckily I found Comparative Literature where I could combine both passions into one major."

Colleen participated in the Dammon Dean's Scholar program her freshman year and the Thayer Scholars Program her sophomore year.  She is also involved with Alpha Phi Omega (a national co-ed service fraternity), where she will be president next semester, and Sigma Tau Delta (an English Honorary Society), the Student English Association, and the Liberal Arts Honors Council.  Colleen also is in the University Honors Program and College of Liberal Arts Honors Program. She is excited to be applying to various library science masters programs for next year.
