Prospective Students
Aurie

Aurie is a Communication major from Charlestown, Indiana. Aurie is active on campus, serving as a Senator in the Hillenbrand Hall Phoenix Club and an on-camera reporter for Purdue Boiler Bytes. In addition, he is a drum major in Purdue's All-American Marching Band and a percussionist for Purdue Concert Bands.
Aurie chose Purdue during his senior year of high school after taking a tour of Purdue's campus. He fell in love with the atmosphere around campus and the amazing academic programs that make Purdue such a well-known and highly respected university. Although he did not start out as a Communication major, Aurie realized it would be a better fit and made the switch.
While he is still undecided about what specific career path he will choose upon graduating, he is certain he is prepared for a variety of roles.
"I really love meeting people and giving presentations, so I'm leaning toward something in the Public Relations field," Aurie said, "but who knows? That could change." Aurie will be completing political public relations internship during the Spring of 2011 semester. Aurie is thrilled for the opportunity to gain experience outside of the classroom.
"This experience will get me a lot of PR experience and help me to decide if PR is something I want to do, so I am really looking forward to it!"
