Public Square Forum
A second PLACE program is the Public Square Forum. The goal is to set the stage for discussion of a timely issue by presenting information from a variety of sources in accessible formats and settings. Public Square Forum programs are designed to take place on and off campus. Public lectures, poster sessions, art and music performances, panels, and videos are created to appeal to a non specialist audience. The Public Square Forum program takes place over several days in community and university locations. K-12 students are encouraged to attend.
Public Square Forum events are held in the afternoon, evening, and on weekends to encourage the general population to attend. The public exhibits associated with Public Square Forum are located in facilities in the Greater Lafayette community, where appropriate security for exhibited items is assured without limiting access to groups or classes who wish to visit them.
