2006 National Youth Sports Program at Purdue University

About 2008 Purdue's NYSP...

2008 daily sessions begin Thursday, June 12th
and end Friday, July 11th

The National Youth Sports Program (NYSP) has been at Purdue since 2002. We are proud to be returning once again in the Summer of 2008 to provide sports, fitness, and health instruction to area youth ages 10-16. Enrollment is open to all youngsters in the community whose parents or guardians meet Department of Health and Human Services income guidelines. The program is free!

NYSP participants receive:

  • daily USDA-approved meals
  • t-shirt
  • transportation to campus where possible
  • a medical examination
  • accident-medical insurance coverage
  • interaction with college students and staff
  • swimming, physical fitness, and a variety of other sports which may include soccer, basketball, softball, tennis, or volleyball
  • alcohol- and other drug-abuse prevention education
  • nutrition, personal health, and citizenship skills
  • fun experience in art, computers, writing, and community service learning
